Orchard Street between Delancey and E. Houston
A favorite of foodies, history buffs and savvy locals, Lower East Side Pickle Day celebrates the rich history of pickle vendors of the Lower East Side and this year we’ll be bringing back the pushcarts! Lower East Side Pickle Day will now be part of our DayLife free neighborhood event series that stretches three blocks on Orchard Street, from Delancey to E. Houston.
On Lower East Side Pickle Day, you will find a range of brine-soaked delicacies from neighborhood institutions such as Guss’, who first sold pickles from barrels on the streets of the LES 100 years ago, to neighborhood newcomers like Mission Chinese, who will be serving up a killer spin the classic pickled dish. That’s quite a mouthful, pardon the pun.
In addition to satisfying all of your pickle (and possibly fickle) desires, there will be 30+ food and fashion vendors lining the AstroTurf-covered streets with our modernized version of the historical and unforgettable Lower East Side pushcart. There will also be a full line-up of top-tier DJs at the Tammany Hall stage and tons of fun games for all ages!
